God DOES have a name!

God Does have a name, and dispite popular beliefe, it is NOT "God".

When people use the word "God" in explicatives, there are always those that chastise them for taking the Lord's name in vain. Whereas these afore mentioned explicatives are quite horrendous, they are NOT taking the Lord's name in vain, because the Lord's name is NOT "God". Nor is it Lord. These are titles that we use to address Him.

When I address my wife, I rarely address her by her proper name. I'll call out from down the hall, "Honey!", and she'll reply with a, "Yes, babe..." Her name isn't "Honey" any more than my name is "Babe", nonetheless, we know of whom we are addressing.

Just as "God" and "Lord" are titles, so are "Father", "Son", and "Holy Ghost". Not one of them is a "name". In Matthew 28:19, Jesus ordered His disciples to go and baptize in the NAME of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. However, while mentioning those titles, He did not specifically say what that NAME was. Rather, He merely mentioned the titles. This was of no consequence though. His deciples already knew what NAME He was refering to.

I am a father to my sons, a son to my mother, and a husband to my wife. However, my NAME is Arthur, not "father", "son", or "husband". If I write a check and sign it "Father, Son, and Husband", odds are that the bank will not honor that check. However, if I sign it by my proper name, Arthur Holt, and there are enough funds to cover it, they will honor it.

Peter declares that there is no other NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. There was no confusion in Peter's mind. When his Lord instructed him in what manner to baptize, he knew exactly what He was saying. On the day of Pentecost, when asked by amazed onlookers "what shall we do?", he reiterates the words of the savior. "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

There is only ONE God, and His NAME is JESUS!
